So the album came out a week or two ago, and of course I'M HOOKED (just get it, its Gnarls for crying out loud). This is their first single and its not even close to the best song on the album but still probably still better than 99% of the crap out right now. Have a listen and try not to dance...I dare you.
They don't even play their own instruments. But I guess it's a better gig than than the circus. If you love Mini KISS, you'll love Tiny KISS. That's right, the ex-drummer of Mini KISS formed another midget cover band.
Inverse is as real as it gets. Through songs that are upbeat, emotional, bracing and oftentimes lighthearted accounts of their true life experiences, the two California-bred rappers share distinct similarities and differences that form the basis and balance for their music. Rapping under their given names, emcees Toby and Tunji appear extremely different on the surface - one white, one black; one from a Jewish household, the other raised Muslim; one raised in Los Angeles, the other in the bay area by Nigerian parents. What they share is a passion for music that transcends any labels. With their honest brand of soulful, straightforward hip hop, the group is part of a newly emerging generation of artists born in the ’80s, raised by hip hop in the ’90s, and poised to help revitalize the culture in the 2000s
I apologize for the poor quality of this clip, but if you focus enough, you can hear the free-spirited rant of Carlos Santana. I'm pretty sure he thought we were at Woodstock. If security didn't take my mushrooms away this may have actually made sense. All-in-all, sick show. Derek Trucks Band opened up and set the tone for a night of jaw-dropping guitar solos. But no guitar in this clip....just a smooth spotlight trumpet solo....
Yesterday, Fearless Records released the 7th album in the "Punk Goes" series entitled "Punk Goes Crunk."
Alternative/Punk/Emo bands covering rap and hip hop songs from Ol’ Dirty Bastard, Lil’ John, 2Pac, Snoop Dogg, OutKast, Dr. Dre and more. Punk Goes Crunk features tracks from Say Anything, New Found Glory, All Time Low, The Devil Wears Prada, The Maine, Person L and Set Your Goals.
The 'Punk Goes' series is one of the most highly anticipated compilations in the market, and prior volumes have featured bands like The All American Rejects, Taking Back Sunday, Rise Against, Gym Class Heroes, Plain White T’s, Yellowcard, The Ataris, Thrice, and Thursday
With spring and warm weather around the corner, it's almost time for poolside drinking and feel-good music. So on that playlist that includes the likes of Toots, 311, Sublime, Roots and Snoop Dogg, make sure you throw in some Midwest Hype. "Travel along side them on a physical and spiritual journey of innovation" brought to you through a blend of jazz, funk, alternative, reggae, soul and hip-hop. These seven guys are best known for their energetic, free-flowing live acts, but this video for "Party's Just Begun" will have to do for now...
