This Weekend's Awful Things to Avoid

It's Labor Day weekend and you may want to get out there and enjoy the last days of summer with some outdoor activity.  Or if you're like me, you may just want to sit around your place and watch TV in your underwear.  Either way you win in my opinion unless you're watching some of these bad boys.  Here is the official guide to what you want to avoid on TV and in theaters this long weekend:

All About Steve

Uh ohhh... looks like Oscar season comming early this year! Sandra Bullock plays a cooky stalker who chases a CNN camera man (Bradly Cooper) around the globe to convince him they are meant to be together!!  Hold on as I get up off the floor, I can't believe Sandra Bullock is in a movie that no one wants to see... sssshhhhocking.

Gamer

Gerald Butler whom I'm sure you saw in his lastest tour de force, The Ugly Truth, is a killer in a game played by kids and it's set in the future and Ludacris is in it (so its gotta be good) and I think Butler wants to kill the guy from Dexter... and really, who gives a shit.  Don't see this movie, instead rent the movie its trying to be, Running Man.  Christ, this freaking plot is so god damn abused.  Hey guys heres a little clue- if you're sick of seeing the TV spot for a movie (and in this case of course you are if your an American male, it won't go away!) then the movie is goiong to BLOW.

We TV - Golden Girls Marathon

Unless you're planning on a drug binge this weekend stay clear away from the We channel (I know, I know, It's gonna be tough) because Dorthy, Rose, Blanche, and that willey old vet Sophia are taking over We TV for both Friday and Saturday nights!  Either avoid it like the HIV or call up your random hippie buddy and get your hands on his pillow sack of mushrooms and kick this bad boy into over drive.

Four in the pink and one in the stink for this girl's Shocker.

Suffering periods that lasted up to 21 days and finding sex difficult, Lauren Williams knew that something was wrong.

The 28-year-old from Chingford, Essex, was stunned to discover she had been born with a rare medical condition, which left her with two vaginas, two wombs and two cervixes. Following the shocking diagnosis, and after an operation to create one single vagina, Lauren is enjoying life more and is even able to laugh about her unique configuration.

In her early twenties, Lauren could never have guessed the reason why she found some sexual positions uncomfortable. "I just presumed I must have a short vagina." It was only when she went for a smear test at 24 that she was alerted to the fact that she could have a medical problem. Lauren explains: "I'd had smear tests done before but they were all with nurses. This time I saw a doctor who said that something didn't look quite right down there and referred me to a gynaecologist."

I Love Movies Feat Patton Oswald and Adam Carolla

Doug Benson's I Love Movies podcast is basically Doug and two or three guests joking about movies, and its fantastic.  This week's is particularly amazing because it features Patton and the Ace Man, who are basically two of the funniest people alive.  An argument can be made that, heaven forbid a bomb were to go off, the comdy community would have been brought to its knees.

Amy rides the machine 300 times a year and even gazes at a picture of it while in bed. American Amy — who has never had a boyfriend — suffers from a rare condition called 'objectum sexuality' where people develop attractions to objects. She says she will marry the ride called 1001 Nachts and change her surname to Weber, the name of the ride's manufacturer.

She said: "I know people think it's weird but I love him as much as women love their husbands and know we'll be together forever." Amy first fell in love with 1001 — based in an amusement park 80 miles from her home — when she was just 13.

Amy, from Pennsylvania, said: "I was instantly attracted to him sexually and mentally. "I wasn't freaked out as it just felt so natural but I didn't tell anyone about it because I knew it wasn't 'normal' to have feelings for a fairground ride.

"While all my friends were going through their teens having crushes on boys, I was still thinking about 1001."

Meet the world's youngest smoker

This kid is 2 years old and he's already blowing thru a pack a day.

BEIJING - A two and a half year old Chinese boy from the city of Tianjin could be the world's youngest smoker, China Radio International (CRI) reported on Tuesday. The child, identified as Tong Liangliang, was encouraged to smoke by his father. Liangliang was born with a hernia, but was too young for an operation. The father gave his son a cigarette when he was 18 months to try and relieve his pain.

"The father wasn't aware how serious the toddler's habit had become until the child began to increase the number of cigarettes he smoked per day," CRI said.  Liangliang now smokes a pack of cigarettes a day and refuses to quit. Every time he sees someone smoking, he asks for a cigarette too and becomes agitated and angry if refused.

Nerd Alert: Asians have invented baseball playing robots

Where we're going we don't need roads...

To demonstrate the latest advances in high-speed industrial robot technology, researchers at the University of Tokyo have pitted a baseball-pitching robotic arm against a mechanical batter with a near-perfect swing.

The robot pitcher consists of a high-speed, three-fingered hand (developed by professor Masatoshi Ishikawa and his team from the Graduate School of Information Science and Technology) mounted on a mechanical arm (developed at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology). With superb control of nimble fingers that can open and close at a rate of up to 10 times per second, the robot can release the ball with perfect timing. Precise coordination between the fingers, hand and arm allow the robot pitcher to hit the strike zone 90% of the time.

In the demonstration — which was designed to showcase the speed at which multiple high-speed industrial robots can respond to external circumstances and perform activities together — the researchers placed the robot pitcher 3.5 meters (11 ft) away from the mechanical batter. The pitcher’s 40-kph (25-mph) sidearm throws posed little challenge to the batter, whose 1000-frame-per-second camera eyes allow it to see the ball in super slow motion as it approaches. The robot batter has a near-perfect batting average when swinging at pitches in the strike zone.

To make future contests more interesting, the researchers plan to increase the robot pitcher’s throwing speed to 150 kph (93 mph) and teach it to throw breaking balls and changeups. In addition, they plan to train the robot batter to repeatedly hit balls to the same target. (via)
